We work to improve education, support education professionals and promote inclusive practice, across the UK and internationally. We aim to enjoy our work and we take pride in achieving positive outcomes. We are a dynamic, growing organisation with an established reputation for providing professional training, SEN consultancy and direct psychological services. Real Group now has over fifty employees which includes eight psychologists, plus a team of associate Educational Psychologists and Tutors.
We are looking for one or two Educational Psychologists interested in casework, research and providing professional development and training. Real Group primarily trades through Real Training and Real Psychology and your role will be within these two parts of the business. You will ideally have or be undertaking a doctorate level qualification (or have recent research experience).
Real Psychology has long-term contracts with schools and alternative education providers, as well as shorter project-based commissions. With us, you can build a diverse work portfolio. As a team, we are specialists in the areas of complex communication needs as well as emotional and mental health; we also regularly carry out preventative work across all areas of need. You will help lead our Real Psychology team undertaking their varied work, with support from the Directors who are also educational psychologists.
Real Training has been delivering applied psychology through online and face-to-face training for teachers and psychologists since 2004. This role will include academic leadership across our range of programmes: the MEd SEND, the NPQ leadership programme and the Professional Assessment Programme (including BPS Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing). We have over 2000 delegates undertaking courses over a year, based in over 50 countries. If you wish to travel then our psychologists have opportunities to deliver training in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Your varied role will include various DfE and EU contracts, contributing to projects that make a difference to education nationally. As well as delivery of Real Training’s online and blended courses, we are looking to develop further postgraduate level training for education professionals up to doctoral level. You will be supported to undertake and publish research.
We are an equal opportunities, flexible employer with psychologists working from offices in South East London and Kent, with some home working. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
You will be able to work sensitively with children, schools and families; be confident in applying psychology in innovative ways; and be able to support the development of research or advanced practitioner skills in other professionals. We strongly advocate evidence-based ethical practice and integrated psychological approaches.
